Featuring an aluminum frame with geometry derived from the Process 134 it’s ready to rip up and down the trails. A short seat tube allows you to run a longer dropper post, and adjustable dropouts allow you to run the bike geared or as a single speed. The Radical Slacker – we initially built the Honzo ESD as a test case for the long and low geometry we were developing for the Process X. Most hardtails tend to be somewhat conservative in their geometry. The Honzo ESD is anything but that. Its cromoly steel frame features a head and seat angle that would be right at home on a modern long travel full suspension bike. Wrapped around a 150mm fork, 4-piston brakes front and rear, shod with meaty Maxxis rubber and featuring a headtube badge may or may not open up the gates to The Underworld, the Honzo ESD is an exercise in barely restrained aggression.
We’ve used that line before. But that is what the Process is all about. Trust. Evolution. Refinement. No fluff, hype, gimmick or overcorrection.
There’s a sweet spot between the tight focus of XC bikes and the sometimes beefy overkill of longer travel all-mountain/enduro/park machines. A place where snappy pedaling and telepathic responsiveness meets surefooted handling and enough suspension to get rowdy. We call this sweet spot the Process 134, or “the trail bike most of us need.” More travel and burlier than the Hei Hei, less travel but the same rowdy intentions as the Process 153 with more pop and flickability thrown in for supreme fun.
The new Process 134 rolls into its third generation with a fistful of changes; a mullet-ready flip-chip, sizes to suit a wider size range riders, revised suspension kinematics for even broader capability. Slice it up four different ways; two in carbon fiber, two in aluminum, from no-nonsense affordable to pretty damn fancy but still very reasonable. There are a million different ways to think about trail riding, and a Process 134 perfect for every one of them.
